Check another 80s classic off the “needed on Blu-ray” list as Robert Zemeckis’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit from executive producers Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy has a green light to hit the high definition format on March 12, 2013 to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit stars Christopher Lloyd and Bob Hoskins in a pioneering film that seamlessly meshed live-action and animation. Despite the prevalence of animated characters, it played to adults with risque themes and created a Halloween costume for the ages in the form of curvaceous Jessica Rabbit.
Touchstone and Disney are bringing Who Framed Roger Rabbit to Blu-ray in a combo pack with DVD. There will be a plethora of bonus features including digitally restored Roger Rabbit Shorts that I will share in their entirety in the near future. The feature film on Blu-ray will be presented in 1.78:1 1080p video and 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
