A little less than three weeks ago, HBO sent over a note via messenger raven declaring that we had been accepted as an honorary member of House Lannister. The note tied into the Game of Thrones: Season 1 Blu-ray release on March 6, and promised vital information would soon be on its way.
On Monday, the messenger raven returned, this time with a heavy box bearing the markings of Game of Thrones. I thought the first letter that came was a neat little publicity plug. However, this one blows it out of the water. It also reveals a twist on Easter Eggs that will appear on the upcoming Blu-ray set.
Inside the box is a Game of Thrones case which when opened reveals materials mostly specific to House Lannister. There are a trio of publicity stills for Cersei (Lena Headey), Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau); a wax House Lannister seal set and instructions on how to use it; a DVD screener for the first episode; and last but not least, a solid replica dragon egg paperweight.
In regards to the twist on Easter Eggs, the Game of Thrones: Season 1 Blu-ray will include six “Dragon” Eggs. Here’s how you’ll find them:
“This dragon egg is easy to find, but the six we’ve hidden on our Blu-ray discs will require much more skill to uncover. Look for HBO Facebook and Twitter posts in March for clues to help you with your hunt.”
