Blame it on Couples Retreat. That is the motto for the Weekend Box Office Prophet game that wrapped this past weekend.
As the only new wide release in theaters, Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau’s Couples Retreat had the largest margin for error in predictions. That played an important role when it brought in $34.3 million or a little shy of double the average prediction for all players. View the full results here.
The Prophet missed Couples Retreat by over $10 million, like most of you, but still managed to beat the average player scores on every film except Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. As such, no prize will be awarded this week but the prize value will be increased in the next round so be sure to participate.
The top score goes to Deep Space Cowboy who missed all five films by a combined total of only $5.9 million. Well played! Second place goes to newcomer Memory Bradley who also happens to be the Prophet’s wife. And third place was locked up by our overall leader WalkingDisaster who through 7 rounds continues to have the best pulse on box office returns.
