AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 4’s second batch of episodes continues to check in on the various survivors from the Governor’s ill-fated attack on the prison with Episode 10 tonight. A minimum of five characters (Daryl, Beth, Glenn, Maggie, and Tyreese) will be visited based on various clips, trailers and images when we watch The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 410 ‘Inmates’ live on AMC tonight or online streaming after it airs. Massive spoilers follow for last week’s episode. Update: The episode is now available to free online stream for a limited time at the official AMC website.
The Walking Dead midseason premiere picked up right where the midseason finale left off with Michonne returning to the zombie-infested prison in order to put Hershel’s zombified head out of its misery. She accomplishes this task and picks up a couple new pets the same time that will allow her to move through zombie herds undetected.
Carl and what’s left of Rick are making their way through the Georgian woods in search of food and shelter. Rick is in bad shape, struggling to breathe from what are likely broken ribs. Carl isn’t showing any sympathy toward his father and is being quite rude to him, all for reasons Rick isn’t keyed in on. The pair eventually end up in a house where Rick passes out and appears to be dead.
Michonne, meanwhile, sleeps in a car and has a dream/nightmare about her life before the apocalypse when she had a young child and a “lover.” Her lover, Mike, and his friend struggle to find a reason to live in this new world as her dream starts to twist, and Michonne finds herself back in the same place she was before: all alone, and struggling to find a reason to keep on going on.
With Rick passed out, Carl leads a couple walkers away from the house and nearly gets eaten when a third jumps him from behind. He then ends up in a different house and narrowly escapes a walker attack in an upstairs bedroom. Carl may want to be fully independent like any teenager, but he learns the hard way that he still needs his dad if he wants to survive in this harsh world.
Michonne joins a zombie herd and sees a walker that looks a lot like herself. This helps Michonne decide that she wants to live and find her friends, so she goes nuts and takes out the entire herd. She then goes back to where she crossed a road with footprints in the mud and follows them along the same path that Rick and Carl had taken.
The episode ends with Carl thinking his dad had died and turned, and him being unable to take him down like he did his mother. As Rick begins to heal and bond with his son again, Michonne finds the house they are in because it has a giant recently eaten can of pudding outside that Carl had left there less than a day before. Michonne has found her new family again, and a new group post-prison is born.
