Ubisoft has put a little extra TLC into the Wii U edition of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist that gives it an edge over the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. To prove it, they’ve released a fun video that showcases the exclusive Wii U features and perfectly sells is as the version to own.
As you might expect, Sam Fisher’s inventory appears on the Wii U GamePad rather than up on the main screen. To speed up the selection process, Ubisoft has programmed the inventory so it is touch responsive. You simple click the weapon you want and it’s armed, and you can quickly switch back-and-forth between lethal and non-lethal options.
When Fisher deploys his Snake cam to peek into rooms from the outside, the camera is completely controlled by the GamePad. Move and tilt the GamePad and the camera will act accordingly.
These motion controls also work with colorized goggles and the Tri-Rotor, a remote-controller vehicle that Fisher uses to fly above areas and targets to capture a better lay of the land.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist comes to Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U next Tuesday, August 20.
