Warner Home Video has announced plans to bring the quirky 1979 comedy Being There to Blu-ray on February 3. Peter Sellers won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role, and the film is listed in the top 100 comedies of all time per AFI.
Warner will present Being There on Blu-ray in remastered widescreen 1.85:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby Digital audio.
Picking up the Blu-ray over the day-and-date special edition DVD release rewards an additional advantage beyond audio/video presentation. While both versions will include the Memories From Being There featurette with Illeana Douglas, the granddaughter of Mervyn Douglas, the Blu-ray version will include two additional features absent on DVD. Those features consist of additional scenes/outtakes and an alternate ending.
Being There on Blu-ray will carry an SRP of $28.99. You can check out the rather plain high-res cover art below, and check back regularly for pre-order information.
