I’ve met several people interested in taking the Blu-ray plunge yet hold off due to high prices. Walmart is after this growing segment with a Blu-ray Disc player offer already stimulating sales.
From now until June 14, Walmart will issue a $100 gift card to any consumer who purchases a Blu-ray Disc player at their store. Better yet, this includes all Playstation 3 skus. It’s the perfect Father’s Day promotion.
Early reports suggest PS3’s are already selling out at numerous Walmart’s across the country. It’s outperforming the Magnavox Blu-ray player priced at $298 before the gift card.
For someone who already does grocery or random shopping at Walmart, a 40GB Playstation 3 for essentially $299 is a hard deal to pass up. If you can find one.
