HBO renewed the sophomore series Veep starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus today for a third season that will premiere in the first half of 2014. A total of ten new episodes were ordered.
Veep was created by Armando Iannucci and stars Louis-Dreyfus as Vice President Selina Meyer. Louis-Dreyfus won the Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy for the role last year during the show’s freshman run.
Joining Louis-Dreyfus on the Veep cast are Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Reid Scott, Matt Walsh, Sufe Bradshaw, Timothy C. Simons, and Kevin Dunn.
The second season of Veep also spans ten episodes and premiered on Sunday, April 14. Season 1 is currently available to own on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download.
The next new episode of Veep premieres this Sunday at 10/9c on HBO immediately following Game of Thrones.
