Update: Universal has officially announced the Blu-ray and DVD debut of The Change-Up that will include the theatrical and a new unrated cut running 5 minutes longer. All the disc details and cover art have been added below.
Original article (September 18, 2011): Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde and Leslie Mann switch bodies in The Change-Up, an R-rated comedy from Universal Studios coming to Blu-ray and DVD on November 8.
While R-rated comedies were a big success story of this past summer at the box office, The Change-Up will be remembered as the second bomb for Reynolds resume behind Green Lantern. It sputtered out the gate with a $13.5 million opening weekend, falling well behind Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The Change-Up ended its theatrical run with $36.8 million, well shy of the $52 million production budget.
The Change-Up was also the second under-performer for Wilde. She co-starred in Universal’s Cowboys & Aliens which failed to live up to expectations after landing in theaters the previous weekend.
The Change-Up on Blu-ray will be presented in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features are as follows:
