Universal Studios Home Entertainment has released the full disc specs for The Mummy, part of the first wave of Blu-ray Disc titles from the studio due to arrive on July 22.
The Mummy on Blu-ray will be presented in a widescreen 2.35:1 remastered 1080p transfer and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. In comparison, the previous HD DVD version offered lossy Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio.
The full suite of supplemental features from the collector’s edition DVD have made their way to Blu-ray Disc, along with a few new ones and the return of an old friend: U-Control. Universal will continue to use this interactive picture-in-picture feature on Blu-ray after utilizing it on several high profile HD DVD titles.
Also new to this release and available on the companion DVD version is a preview for the upcoming The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor film. The complete list of features are as follows.
