Dreamworks, freshly departed from Paramount, has inked a reported five-year deal to distribute their films through Universal.
The move comes as no surprise given the longstanding ties between Spielberg and Universal.
What impact the new deal will have on home video distribution remains to be seen. Films like Saving Private Ryan were already distributed through Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Animated fare, like Shrek and The Prince of Egypt, has come through Paramount.
We’ll pass along additional updates as this story develops.
