Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon is following the lead of James Cameron’s Avatar in having a handful of theaters selling tickets for midnight showings months before release.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Columbus, GA-based Carmike Cinemas is selling tickets to New Moon midnight showings on November 19 at 63 of its 247 theaters. The tickets are currently available exclusively through Fandango.com.
AMC has been selling Avatar tickets through Fandango and MovieTickets.com for several weeks. Though AMC has not offered sales statistics, they have confirmed sales have been “healthy.” Once word spreads through Twilight swelling fan base of New Moon’s early ticket offerings, those sales might be defined as “sold out.”
