True Blood Season 7 Trailer Again Devoid of Eric Northman

True Blood Season 7 Trailer Again Devoid of Eric NorthmanHBO is trying to stir up some controversy for those not in the know when it comes to the upcoming seventh and final season of True Blood. If you have been following True Blood news since the Season 6 finale then you already know the truth regarding the fate of one Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard).

This latest True Blood Season 7 trailer is full of Bon Temps, the original True Blood location that has taken a back seat to more ambitious and scattered storytelling in more recent seasons. Long time fans of the show will be happy to see the series return to its roots for the final season, though there’s an obvious void in the roster as far as this new trailer is concerned.

At the conclusion of Season 6, Eric was sunbathing nude high in the snowy European mountains when the effects of his ability to live in the sunlight wore off. He caught fire in spectacular fashion, and then the scene cut with his fate seemingly left hanging in the balance.

The thought is that when Season 7 begins, Pam will sense her master in danger and fly to his rescue. Skarsgard is already confirmed as a regular cast member for Season 7, so HBO excluding him from the promotions is only to drum up drama regarding Eric’s fate. We all know better; Northman will return, one way or the other, regardless of what any of the advertisements may lead us to believe.

The True Blood Season 7 premiere is set for a little over a month from now on Sunday, June 22 at 9/8c on HBO. Season 6 debuts on Blu-ray and DVD on June 3.
