HBO’s True Blood will attempt to find some direction this week in We’ll Meet Again, the next installment of what is proving to be a scattered and unsatisfying fifth season of the supernatural series. Someone besides Pam needs to step up to the plate and deliver a story worth caring about.
In We’ll Meet Again, Eric and Bill will continue their bogus journey to deliver Russell Edgington to Roman and the Vampire Authority. They are beginning to believe they won’t survive – not a stretch considering the stakes strapped to their hearts – but forge ahead and call upon the services of Sookie and her Faerie powers to help locate the recently unearthed irate former vampire king.
Hoyt went Goth in the last True Blood episode and will continue his search for a new post-Jessica vampire mate at Fangtasia. Speaking of the vampire bar, Pam will finally see her maker Eric again and sarcasm flies. She’ll also “force Tara to toe the line.”
Andy and Jason will find themselves at a burlesque party. Terry’s flashbacks will take a more pronounced form. Sam will go for a run with some shifters. Sookie will finally confess to her brother of the law Jason after telling Alcide about the Debbie murder incident. Alcide in turn tells Debbie’s parents their daughter’s fate. And Roman and Salome will continue to interrogate Nora in an attempt to root out any traitors in the Council.
That’s a lot of stories to simultaneously keep track of and one of the reasons this season of True Blood has failed to find its footing. It’s past time for several of these threads to come together or be permanently tied up.
