Veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones is potentially on the verge of shooting two huge films this summer.
According to sources close to UGO, Jones is currently in negotiations for a role in Joe Johnston’s The First Avenger: Captain America which begins shooting on June 28. Jones fits the look of a World War II-era seasoned military officer and would be convincing enough to lure Cap into the super soldier serum program.
Jones is already on board Men in Black 3 which begins shooting later this summer. While that’s a starring role, if he appeared in Captain America it would likely be a smaller commitment.
With Chris Evans already cast in the lead, Johnston could use some bigger names to help beef up Captain America versus its star-studded Marvel companion films. Even UGO admits to take this rumor with a grain of salt until something more substantial materializes.
