About a month ago we exclusively revealed a first look at official Blu-ray packaging for Tombstone and Michael Bay’s Armageddon Blu-ray cover art. Some of you were overjoyed with the news while others questioned the validity of the images.
All speculation can now be put to rest as over the weekend online retailer Amazon.com added active pre-orders for both Tombstone and Armageddon on Blu-ray Disc.
I caught the listings for the first time on Saturday and each was dated for May 4. A day later they are a week short with each now pegged for an April 27 arrival. For many, the fewer days between now and their release, the better!
Another piece of this puzzle has yet to be fully solved but all indications point towards an unhappy ending. As you saw a month ago, the cover art reveal did not indicate Tombstone was the director’s cut. To go along with that, Amazon is listing a 130 minute run time which matches the theatrical cut’s length. The director’s cut is 134 minutes.
Buena Vista has yet to officially announced either title but odds are they are coming if not on April 27 then a date close by. We’ll pass along the full details as soon as they are available.
