TNT has unveiled its summer 2013 premiere schedule that includes Season 3 of Falling Skies, Season 4 of Rizzoli & Isles and more.
The first premiere is The Hero, a new competition series starring Dwayne Johnson that asks contestants to test their “brains, brawn and morality.” It begins on Thursday, June 6 at 8/7c.
Next is 72 Hours, a new reality competition series hosted by Brandon Johnson that leaves three teams stranded in the wildnerness with only one bottle of water and a GPS tracking device to locate a hidden stash of cash. The new series premieres on Thursday, June 6 at 9/8c immediately following The Hero.
Falling Skies: Season 3 starring Noah Wyle gets a two-hour premiere on Sunday, June 9 at 9/8c. Picking up on last season’s cliffhanger that saw a friendly alien new race arrive, the new season adds Robert Sean Leonard in a guest starring role as scientist Roger Kadar who runs a power grid from underground; and Gloria Reuben as aid to Tom Mason, Marina Perlata. Steven Spielberg once again executive produces.
The following night, June 10, sees the Season 2 premiere of Major Crimes starring Battlestar Galactica alum Mary McDonnell at 9/8c.
New private-eye drama King and Maxwell will feed off of Major Crimes in the 10/9c time slot on Monday nights. It stars Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn.
Rizzoli & Isles Season 4 gets underway on Tuesday, June 18 at 9/8c with Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander returning to their signature roles. Perception: Season 2 starring Eric McCormack will follow at 10/9c the same evening.
Franklin & Bash with Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer kicks off its third season on Wednesday, July 24 at 9/8c. Heather Locklear will be joining the cast as Rachel King, the firm’s newest partner and a brilliant trial lawyer.
Last but not least is another new series, tentatively titled Cold Justice. The unscripted procedural drama centers around two female investigators with ample experience who “work helping local law-enforcement officers and families of violent-crime victims get to the truth.” Eight episodes have been ordered.
