AMC has released a new promo spot/trailer for the midseason return of The Walking Dead that appears to portend an eyes to eye meeting between Rick Grimes and The Governor.
The Season 3 back half of episodes will begin where the midseason finale left off with the Dixon brothers Merle and Daryl pitted against each other in the Governor’s little fighting arena. This trailer suggests that Rick, Michonne and the rest of their group will attack the festivities and free at least Daryl from captivity. The fate of Merle remains in question.
A second attack on the Governor will only infuriate the man more and set up a war between Woodbury and the prison. At some point Andrea will need to choose sides; her former friends she thought were dead, or the man that she now shares a bed with but has finally revealed his “dark side.”
The Walking Dead: Season 3 return starring Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yuen, Laurie Holden, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Norman Reedus, Chad Coleman, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira and David Morrissey is set for February 10, exactly one week after the Super Bowl.
