AMC has historically used San Diego Comic-Con has the platform to launch a first-look trailer for the upcoming new season of the zombie apocalypse drama. The thought this year is that AMC would debut the first The Walking Dead: Season 4 trailer sometime after it premieres during the show’s panel at Comic-Con this upcoming Friday. That assumption looks to be spot on accurate.
A few hours ago, AMC hopped on Facebook and shared a new zombie image from the upcoming fourth season of The Walking Dead. With the image they announced that the “world premiere” The Walking Dead: Season 4 trailer was coming this Friday. Any additional details were deliberately left off the post.
I expect AMC to first run the new trailer for the Comic-Con crowd during the 1:35pm panel in Hall H. Most of the cast and key crew will be in attendance including new showrunner Scott Gimple. The Hall should be rocking when that footage first airs while the rest of us wait patiently for the footage to go online, which I would be shocked if it didn’t by Friday evening at the latest.
For this upcoming fourth season of The Walking Dead, the trio of Sonequa Martin-Green, Chad Coleman and Emily Kinney were all promoted to regulars so it would be surprisingly if they didn’t make an appearance in the trailer. Also be on the lookout for newcomer Lawrence Gilliard Jr. as Bob Stookey, and returning villain The Governor as portrayed by series regular David Morrissey.
The Walking Dead: Season 4 mirrors the Season 3 blueprint of 16 episodes and will premiere this October exclusively on AMC.
