AMC is gearing up to finally share a first look at The Walking Dead: Season 4 a little over three months away from its premiere, culminating in what is expected to be the first trailer that will debut during Comic-Con later this month.
Our first official look at The Walking Dead: Season 4 comes in the form of a banner designed specifically for Comic-Con. The poster features Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) with their signature firearms at the ready, flanked on either side by Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). It’s good to see Tyrese make the cut for the first promotional poster as it may signal a meatier role this season versus last.
Starting on July 4 at 1/12c, AMC is airing a four-day The Walking Dead marathon that promises to include behind-the-scenes footage from the upcoming fourth season scattered throughout it. Kevin Smith is hosting the marathon and will be providing the sneak peeks from the Atlanta-area set. Smith has been hands-down the best guest host to appear on The Talking Dead after show so AMC definitely picked the right geek for the job.
What AMC isn’t offering is how many check-ins with Smith there will be and exactly when they will occur. All we know is that The Walking Dead: Season 1 will air twice on Thursday, July 4, in black-and-white and color; followed by The Walking Dead: Season 2 and The Walking Dead: Season 3 on Saturday with a repeat on Sunday. Each day’s start time is 1/12c.
The official main cast list for The Walking Dead: Season 4 includes Andrew Lincoln, David Morrissey, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney. The Season 4 premiere is expected to arrive in mid-October with the 16-episode season being split into two parts; the first half airing into December and the second half beginning in February.
