The Walking Dead Season 4 Behind-The-Scenes Video Promises Many Zombies

The Walking Dead Season 4 Behind-The-Scenes Video Promises Many ZombiesAMC is making sure to feed our appetite for anything relating to Season 4 of The Walking Dead. The latest morsel comes in the form of a behind-the-scenes video that includes a couple nuggets of information some might consider to delve into spoilers territory. Proceed at your own risk.

A full winter season has passed since the Season 3 finale and the remaining Woodbury survivors have become a part of the prison community. A new system is in place for security, while the prison itself has been made to feel more like a home than an institution – complete with a garden.

The Walking Dead wouldn’t be the pop culture and ratings phenomenon it is if there weren’t zombies and this upcoming season promises to have more in the premiere than any previous episode. Expect Greg Nicotero and his effects team to step up their game with the zombie gore.

Though zombies will present problems for the prison community, they aren’t the main threat Rick and his people will face. Per Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, “Not even walkers and not even other people, it’s a whole new threat.” Kirkman goes on to call this new threat “More deadly than the other two combined.” What could a threat possibly be that isn’t people or walkers? Starvation, perhaps? I’m drawing a blank; and no, I haven’t read the comic.

There is a scene teased with a mother and her baby trapped in a car while ravenous zombies are trying to get at them. A few seconds later a zombie is seen inside the car, which begs the question of whether we will be seeing a zombie baby this season. I would say the odds look favorable.

The Walking Dead: Season 4 kicks off 16 all-new episodes on Sunday, October 16. Expect more cable ratings records to fall.
