AMC has deliberately not provided press with early access to the final two episodes of The Walking Dead: Season 3 that gets underway with tonight’s penultimate episode ‘This Sorrowful Life.’ What are expected to be shocking spoilers should commence tonight so be sure to tune in, set your DVR, or online stream the episode shortly after it airs via instructions at the bottom of this post.
Last week’s cat-and-mouse episode ‘Prey’ dramatically altered how I thought these final two episodes might play out. Andrea (Laurie Holden) decided to make a run for it from Woodbury only to be tracked down and captured by The Governor (David Morrissey) front on the prison’s doorstep. Rather than rejoining her true friends, Andrea ends up in The Governor’s torture chair that was intended for Michonne (Dania Gurira).
I suspect that Andrea’s predicament will somehow get back to Rick’s group at the prison, and it will be either Milton (Dallas Roberts) or Tyreese (Chad Coleman) who delivers the message in person that ends up sending Michonne to the rescue. Both have caught wind of The Governor’s dark side and I wouldn’t be surprised if one or both make a run for the prison in a stolen vehicle. Milton has already proven he knows how to sneak out in a truck and right back in unseen. If I had to choose one or the other, I’d say it’s time for Tyreese and Sasha to get back on Rick’s good side.
The prison was out of the spotlight last week but every single preview image and clip from tonight’s episode is from within the prison. It looks like Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is gearing his troops up for an attack that we all know is coming. The big question is when? I could see tonight’s episode ending with the beginning of the attack and then serving up a huge cliffhanger to set up the finale.
If there’s one character that I fear may be on their last legs it’s Merle (Michael Rooker). Imagine a scenario where Merle suddenly turns on Rick’s group and chops off Rick’s hand for the revenge he’s been seeking since being left to die and rot up on that Atlanta rooftop. Merle turning would put Daryl (Norman Reedus) in the insane hot seat of having to choose to put Merle down for good or side with family again as he did a few episodes ago. Crazy food for thought.
The Walking Dead: Season 3 episode 315 ‘This Sorrowful Life’ commences what I expect to play like a two-hour season finale with a cliffhanger break tonight at 9/8c on AMC, followed by The Talking Dead. There is no official way to watch a free online streaming version of the episode. However, if you go here at Amazon.com then you can watch tonight’s episode beginning early tomorrow morning in either standard or high definition for a minimal cost. All back episodes are also available to immediately stream in standard or HD.
