Anchor Bay has chosen August 28, 2012 as the release date for The Walking Dead: Season 2 on Blu-ray and DVD, a little over a month from when Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on AMC.
As was previously announced at Toy Fair earlier this year, The Walking Dead: Season 2 on Blu-ray will come in standard and limited edition packages. The limited edition set is housed inside the bust of the RV zombie that Andrea battles early on in the season. The zombie head was designed by McFarlane Toys, the same company who produces The Walking Dead action figures.
The Blu-ray and DVD versions of The Walking Dead: Season 2 will span four discs and will be “loaded with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, featurettes and audio commentaries.” It’s a little surprisingly that Anchor Bay did not deliver the full bonus features list. Maybe they are saving that reveal for Comic-Con in July.
