Tonight at 10pm and appropriately on Halloween, AMC is premiering ‘The Walking Dead’ in hopes it becomes a fixture like True Blood for many years to come.
This first of six episodes introduces Rick (Andrew Lincoln), a police officer wounded in a shootout with a fugitive on the run. Rick awakens in the hospital a little later to find himself all alone and the world around him torn to pieces. He’ll set out into a zombie-infested world in search of his family and anyone else who might still be uncontaminated and alive.
‘The Walking Dead’ is based on Robert Kirkman’s graphic novels. Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) is executive producing the show for AMC and directed the 90-minute pilot episode airing later tonight. Other cast members include Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Derrick McLeod, Adam Minarovich, Chandler Riggs, Michael Rooker, Sarah Wayne Callies and Steven Yeun.
