The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Begins Shooting in August

There is a distinct possibility that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will wrap principle photography before its predecessor, New Moon, arrives in theaters.

According to Coming Soon, Summit Entertainment has locked into August 17 to begin shooting Eclipse at Vancouver Film Studios. The shoot will come to a close on October 31, roughly three weeks before Twilight New Moon howls into theaters on November 20.

The synopsis published for Eclipse reads: Bella (Kristen Stewart) once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

A release date of June 30, 2010 has been set for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with the fourth and final film in the franchise, Breaking Dawn, due in theaters in November 2010.
