MGM Home Entertainment have announced another Blu-ray edition of The Terminator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming on February 19, 2013.
Why another The Terminator Blu-ray when we already have multiple editions to choose from, you wonder? Apparently MGM has commissioned the film be remastered specifically for this release. The press notes don’t specifically mention if just the video, the audio, or both were remastered, but a logical assumption would be that this new The Terminator Blu-ray should be the best looking one yet as long as the remastering doesn’t go the way of Predator and clean things up too much. Audio will be presented in 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
Bonus features are relatively light on this new The Terminator Blu-ray. What you will get are 7 deleted scenes, ‘Creating The Terminator: Visual Effects & Music’ featurette, and ‘Terminator: A Retrospective.’
