This upcoming Halloween and holiday season could be a big one for Jack Skellington and his motley crew of Halloweentown’s misunderstood monsters as the stop-animation classic The Nightmare Before Christmas from director Henry Selick and co-writer Tim Burton celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Disney Interactive’s promotion of their big Disney Infinity video game has heavily featured Jack Skellington and, if you look closely at a couple of the trailers, what looks like the curled up landscape that Jack and his love ascend in front of the moon. Disney has already announced that an additional as-of-yet revealed Play Set will be released for Disney Infinity this holiday season, so the potential is there for a The Nightmare Before Christmas Disney Infinity Play Set with Jack Skellington and someone else figures included.
The 20th anniversary of The Nightmare Before Christmas is also expected to bring about a new Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray release of the film. It’s too early to say what – if any – new material will be included on the discs, but I am confident in relaying the information that two new Blu-ray releases are being prepped for release.
