This year’s Clash of the Titans remake starring Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen, Alexa Davalos, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson is coming to Blu-ray Disc and DVD on July 27 from Warner Home Video sans the controversial tacked-on 3D.
Packaged in with the Blu-ray version (and possibly DVD, too, though unconfirmed) is a sneak peek of The Green Lantern film with Ryan Reynolds that is currently shooting in Louisiana. The first footage from The Green Lantern is expected to debut a few days before Clash arrives on Blu-ray at the San Diego Comic-Con, however this news brings hope to those not crammed like sausages into the exhibit hall of getting in on the cosmic police action, too.
The Clash of the Titans Blu-ray will sport a 2.35:1 1080p transfer and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. A digital copy and standard DVD of the film will be included along with the following bonus features (in addition to coveted The Green Lantern sneak peek):
- Sam Worthington: An Action Hero for the Ages
- Harnessing the Gods: Maximum Movie Mode
- Deleted Scenes
- Alternate Ending
- BD-Live
Per comments made by director Louis Leterrier during interviews, Clash of the Titans was heavily modified in the editing bay and came out radically different than his original intent. Hopefully the Maximum Movie Mode and deleted scenes offer some insight into what was given the axe. Based on what we know now, a director’s cut does not appear to be in the cards.
