Tim Robbins will make a rare comic book movie appearance in The Green Lantern per a news scoop from THR.
Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the “disapproving” father of villain Dr. Hector Hammond who will be played by Peter Sarsgaard. Dr. Hammond will become infused with physic powers that allow him to go up against The Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds).
Blake Lively of Gossip Girl fame stars as Lantern’s love interest, Carol Ferris. Shooting gets underway next month in Louisiana under the watchful eye of director Martin Campbell.
Robbins previously appeared in the 1986 B-movie Howard The Duck. This role should be taken infinitely more serious.
