Lionsgate Home Entertainment has released a preliminary list of what you can expect to find on the upcoming The Forbidden Kingdom: Special Edition Blu-ray Disc release, due in stores September 9.
The two-disc set will include a standard definition copy of the film on disc two.
Special features shared with the two-disc DVD edition include multiple featurettes, a blooper reel, deleted scenes, a feature-length audio commentary, and other goodies yet to be announced.
Exclusive to Blu-ray Disc is MOLOG BD-Live support including an application allowing viewers to insert and animate shapes, text, audio and other graphics on top of the feature film ala a telestrator. This the first use of such a feature on any Blu-ray title to date.
MOLOG will also include the ability to write and share “blogs” about Forbidden Kingdom with other registered MOLOG users.
Lionsgate has yet to share technical specs for Forbidden Kingdom on Blu-ray, though it’s safe to assume the studio standard 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track and widescreen 1080p video.
Forbidden Kingdom: Special Edition on Blu-ray will carry an SRP of $39.99. It is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com for only $27.95 (visit the Amazon.com Forbidden Kingdom pre-order page).
