Lionsgate has announced a new director’s cut of The Expendables is coming to Blu-ray on December 13, a cut Sylvester Stallone had been actively tweeting about a year ago. Ironically, today’s announcement is only a day removed from Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeting an image of he, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis on the set of The Expendables 2.
The Expendables Extended Director’s Cut includes 11 additional minutes over the theatrical cut. It also includes a newly recorded introduction by its writer, director and star Sylvester Stallone; a featurette on Stallone and his directing career; ‘Inferno,’ a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary that provides a unique perspective on the filmmaking process from Stallone’s distinctive point of view; Spike TV program ‘Action: The Expendables;’ and a Sully Erna of Godsmack music video. A digital copy will also be included.
SRP pricing for The Expendables Extended Director’s Cut is set at $24.99 which should put retail pricing under $20. Check out the cover art below and look for Amazon’s pre-order link in the near future.
