Update: Twentieth Century Fox has released the official high definition trailer for The Day the Earth Stood Still, available in 480, 720 and 1080p over at Apple.com.
The trailer first debuted Tuesday as an exclusive on Entertainment Tonight. Low-res versions appeared around the Internet shortly thereafter and were quickly snuffed out by Fox.
The Day the Earth Stood Still is based on the original 1951 sci-fi flick. It stars Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, John Cleese, and Will Smith’s kid, Jaden Smith.

The Day the Earth Stood Still will be this upcoming December 12.
