The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection was made official today by Paramount Home Entertainment, ending and confirming over a year of suspicion that all four Indiana Jones movies would be released in a Blu-ray box set later this year.
The announcement is short on details but does promise all four Indiana Jones films in high-def audio and video, as well as “a best of collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes and a few new surprises.” Don’t expect new Steven Spielberg director’s cuts. He’s already gone on record as saying George can tinker with Star Wars all he wants, but the Indiana Jones films will be left as-is.
This fall is shaping up to be a big one for Steven Spielberg films on Blu-ray. In addition to the now confirmed debuts of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Universal has promised the debuts of Jaws, E.T.: The Extraterrestrial and Schindler’s List. That’s a lot of vintage Spielberg to be hitting stores around the same time.
More on The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection will be shared as additional information is released.
