Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has verified retailer listings dating back more than a month by formally announcing The Bridge on the River Kwai is coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 2 in a collector’s edition package that includes a DVD version of the film.
The Bridge on the River Kwai stars Sir Alec Guinness and is the story of British POWs being held deep within the Burmese jungle during World War II. It won 7 Academy Awards in 1957 including Best Picture, Best Actor (Alec Guinness), and Best Director (David Lean).
The Blu-ray presentation of The Bridge on the River Kwai will be in 2.55:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features include the following:
