The Breakfast Club has been announced as the winner of Universal’s Facebook ‘Director’s Decision’ Blu-ray contest and as such will be coming to Blu-ray on August 3.
Did it really matter if Breakfast Club won or not? This year marks the film’s 25th anniversary and that tag will be associated with the release. Also, Amazon.com began taking pre-orders for The Breakfast Club on Blu-ray weeks ago and another contestant in the contest, Psycho, has already been announced. Could Back to the Future be next since it was in the running?
As for The Breakfast Club: 25th Anniversary Edition, all we can confirm at this time in regards to disc specs is a single-disc release with 1.85:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. More information will be passed along when available.
