The official version of The Amazing Spider-Man trailer has showed up a little early on YouTube and is ready for you to watch it below.
Marc Webb’s take on Spider-Man looks to be considerably darker than Sam Raimi’s version. You could even say the trailer enters the “dark” story Christopher Nolan crafted for his Batman films.
I’m sure there’s still plenty of humor and light scenes in The Amazing Spider-Man, but Sony seems content to aim serious right now – perhaps to capture the hearts of Comic-Con goers. As the Joker said, “Why So Serious” with the trailer?
What will get everyone talking about the trailer are the final moments where the audience gets to look through the eyes of Spider-Man as he crawls and swings along the New York skyline. It reminds me of Star Tours a little and should be an excellent showcase for 3D.
The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. It swings into theaters in 3D on July 3, 2012.
