The clean high definition version of Terrence Malick’s Tree of Life trailer has been released online over at Apple and is ready for you to download and check out.
From the man who brought us The Thin Red Line and Days of Heaven comes the story of a Midwestern family living in the 1950’s. It primarily follows the life of Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) and his relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). As Jack ages, he becomes disconnected with the modern world and searches for answers.
Malick’s signature impressionistic imagery and thoughtful camera work is all over the trailer. It’s rare a short trailer can evoke feeling yet Malick has managed to accomplish just that.
Fox Searchlight will release Tree of Life in theaters on May 27, 2011.
