Teaser Confirms Modern Warfare 2 on Nov 10, 2009

Activision and Infinity Ward dropped a tasty treat at GDC this morning that will instantly suck $60 out of your wallet later this year.

Infinity Ward’s sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has dropped “Call of Duty” from its name and will be known simply as Modern Warfare 2. Does this mean the CoD franchise will live on away from Infinity Ward and Modern Warfare is a new direction entirely? Right now we just don’t know.

A new teaser trailer unveils the new name and logo as well as brief jumbled images from the game intertwined between green oscillating signals. Green lines haven’t looked so cool since The Matrix.

The teaser ends with a profound statement: November 10, 2009. Mark your calendar boys and girls. That is, after you check out the interactive teaser at www.modernwarfare2.com.

“Everyone on the team is laser focused on making the most gripping experience we’ve ever created,” said Infinity Ward’s CEO, Vince Zampella. “No detail is too small and every finishing touch imaginable is underway to make Modern Warfare 2 our best ever. We can’t wait for our fans around the world to play starting November 10th.”
