Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. released their second quarter financial results today with hints of what to expect and not expect from their brands in the coming years. The most obvious statements confirm a new Major League Baseball game, presumably “MLB 2K7,” is currently in development, and “Grand Theft Auto IV” will appear on Playstation 3 in October 2007. Missing are any signs of a 2K Sports return to football, despite rumors and fan outcries for several years now.
Aside from previously announced upcoming games like “Bioshock,” “The Darkness” and “NBA 2K7,” further confirmation of a proprietary unlicensed sports boxing title is given but still no meaty details are made available. Will 2K Boxing have any hope for success against EA’s “Fight Night” series without a license? There’s always a chance if Visual Concepts is at the helm.
