Warner Home Video has announced plans to release Season 4 of LucasFilm’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Blu-ray and DVD on October 23, 2012, just in time to take advantage of the Season 5 premiere on The Cartoon Network.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars follows the adventures of Anakin Skywalker, his Padawan Ahsoka Tano, and his master Obi-Wan Kenobi, as they fight against the Sith and Separatists between Episodes 2 and 3 of the theatrical films. Since the box art spoils it I’ll come out and say it: Season 4 marks the return of a cyborg Darth Maul who is out for revenge against the Jedi that cut him in half in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
The three-disc set will include all 22 broadcast episodes of The Clone Wars presented in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features follow the template of previous seasons on Blu-ray and include 5 video commentaries, and the Jedi Temple Archives with an extensive database of early test animations, concept art & 3-D turnarounds.
