Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 1 German Blu-ray Trailer

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 1 German Blu-ray TrailerIt’s now less than one day until CBS Home Entertainment delivers Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Next Level on Blu-ray, the first high-def foray into Star Trek: TNG that offers up three popular episodes as a teaser of what’s to come.

Next up for Star Trek: TNG fans is the complete first season, expected to arrive in stores sometime later this year. I’ll share the exact release date and details when they’re known.

For now, a new German trailer for this Blu-ray release has popped up online which you can watch below. Don’t worry if you cannot understand German as the voice-over translation makes the interview snippets impossible to understand. YouTube user “trekcorevideo,” who uploaded the trailer, offered a rough translation of the key elements.

“Experience Star Trek The Next Generation in a quality that no one has seen before. Remastered in full HD.

Okuda: We love the approach that CBS took for this project. We take the original film elements and put them together in a new way. The material still has all the details and they are beautiful. And the new visual effects are really the old visual effects but a lot more beautiful than you have ever seen them.

Weiss: Now, with HD TVs, the resolution is really incredible and so the fans will now finally be able to see all the details as they were actually intended to be seen.

Roddenberry: If my father could see what is possible today and in what quality he would be thrilled and would say “It is finally how we’ve always imagined it to be.” I believe he would shake everyone’s hands and thank them.

All episodes of the first season, remastered from the original negatives with 7.1 surround and the original stereo sound track and new bonus features.”

I encourage you to read Jason’s Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Next Level Blu-ray review if you haven’t done so already. The restoration work on these episodes is amazing, and to think it’s only the tip of the iceberg.
