Spoiler: Something Furry on the True Blood Set

There’s a new animal prowling around the True Blood set and it’s not a bird, dog or a wolf.

TV Guide has published an image from the True Blood set of a black panther that will appear in an upcoming mid-August True Blood Season 3 episode. Odds are favorable that this panther turns into someone (or there are multiples that turn into someones), but who that someone (or someones) is remains shrouded in secrecy.

One possibility is that Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) will become the furry feline based on a storyline from Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse books. In speaking with TV Guide, Kwanten confirmed he shares at least one scene with the black cat. “I’ve been working with the panthers and they’re a lot cooler than the wolves,” he said, with showrunner Alan Ball confirming the existence of “actual panthers” on set with them being used in the same manner as “actual wolves.” But he refused to confirm the existence of werepanthers popping up in the show despite all signs suggesting they will.

We’ll find out definitively roughly four episodes from now.
