Sony Computer Entertainment’s inFAMOUS Playstation 3 game will begin its journey into a feature in the hands of screenwriter Sheldon Turner.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures has picked up the scribe’s pitch in a seven-figure deal. The property’s rights are still being ironed out but should not be an issue considering both entities fall under the ginormous Sony umbrella.
The inFAMOUS PS3 game centers around bike messenger Cole MacGrath whom awakens after a devastating explosion nearly flattens his city with the ability to control electricity with his body. Throughout the game Cole’s actions, good or bad, affect how the city’s remaining citizens react to him.
“What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I’ve come across that had a big idea and a character arc,” scribe Turner told THR. “It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is.”
Don’t expect inFAMOUS in theaters until 2011 at the earliest.
