Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a new two-disc collector’s edition of Casino Royale will be released on October 21 to coincide with the release of Quantum of Solace in theaters.
This release marks the second appearance of Casino Royale on Blu-ray in less than two years. The first release scored an overall 8.4 here at HDR (read our review).
One of Shawn’s issues with the first release was “underwhelming” supplemental features that he scored a paltry 6.0. This new two-disc collector’s edition aims to improve upon the first with seven hours worth of material compared to 90 minutes. The full list of features is as follows.

Sony will likely utilize the same 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded transfer and switch the audio from lossless 5.1 PCM uncompressed audio to 5.1 Dolby TrueHD lossless audio.
