The 2006 CGI flick Open Season will be the third standalone Blu-ray 3D release by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment when it hits store shelves on the now confirmed November 16 release date.
Like Sony’s two already available standalone Blu-ray 3D titles Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Monster House, Open Season will also include the 2D version of the film in the same package. None of the bonus features included are new but two of the existing activities have been enhanced with 3D as noted in the complete list of features below.
- Boog & Elliot’s Midnight Bun Run animated short
- Behind the Trees: Making Open Season featurette
- The Voices Behind the Stars featurette
- Deleted Scenes
- Filmmaker Commentary
- Inside the Animals Studio faux commentaries from characters from the film
- Ring Tales animated shorts
- Galleries of Environments, Characters and Beat Boards
- Music video for Deathray’s “I Want to Lose Control”
- 3 Activities:
- Wheel of Fortune: Forest Edition – Enhanced in 3D
- Voice-a-Rama – Enhanced in 3D
- Swept Away Scene Deconstruction
Sony has set Open Season’s Blu-ray 3D SRP at $39.95. I’ll add the Amazon.com pre-order link and a larger version of the cover art when they are available.
