It’s no secret that AMC’s The Walking Dead: Season 2 will stumble onto Blu-ray and DVD later this year, likely just ahead of the Season 3 premiere in October.
We’ve already seen the McFarlane Toys-designed exclusive limited edition case that resembles the RV zombie that attacked Andrea and got a screwdriver through the eye socket for its effort. McFarlane is also creating an action figure of this same zombie that is due in stores later this year. The RV zombie Blu-ray limited edition package is an awesome design and already pre-selling strongly at Amazon.com.
What’s packed onto the discs has by-and-large remained a mystery given publisher Anchor Bay has yet to discuss the set’s details or release date. Showrunner Glen Mazzara, on the other hand, had no issues opening up about what he knows about the set and told all to FEARnet.
According to Mazzara, there will be audio commentaries on the season premiere, ‘Pretty Much Dead Already,’ ‘Nebraska’ ‘Judge, Jury, Executioner,’ and the season finale. Expect roughly 12 minutes worth of deleted scenes with extensive commentaries by Mazzara where he divulges why they got the axe.
Even more deleted footage has been mixed together into a little featurette that might play for laughs, though Mazzara wasn’t clear about the featurette’s purpose.

We probably won’t get the full scoop from Anchor Bay about The Walking Dead: Season 2 on Blu-ray and DVD until sometime this summer. Thanks to Mazzara, there’s a decent amount of information to chew on for the time being.
