Sherwood America has formally announced its entrance into the Blu-ray Disc player space with the BDP-5003.
The player has been designed and priced to appeal to new adopters who don’t want to sacrifice too many features but also don’t want to pay an arm and a leg. And they won’t with an SRP clocking in at $299 meaning a street price even lower.
The BDP-5003 will be profile 1.1 compliment with BD BonusView, but will not include 2.0 compliance allowing for BD-Live connectivity.
On the tech side, the player supports 1080p video playback at 60 or 24Hz as well as DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD via an HDMI 1.3 compliant connection.
Look for the BDP-5003 to arrive on store shelves sometime this November.
