Warner has chosen none other than October 26 to release Sex and the City 2 starring Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in an effort to spawn some sympathy sales from husbands spending hundreds on the Back to the Future Trilogy and Alien Anthology the same day. “Honey, if you let me drop close to $200 on these two sets I’ll throw in Sex and the City 2 for you.” Done deal!
Although Sex and the City 2 fell short of the original’s box office marks, Warner is treating the Blu-ray like a queen given the first film’s big Blu-ray business. It will be packaged in a Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy combo pack and include two hours of bonus materials: Styling Sex and the City 2; The Men of Sex and the City; Marry Me Liza!; Revisiting the 80s; SATC2 Soundtrack: Behind the Scenes with Alicia Keys; and a Filmmaker Commentary with Michael Patrick King. Tech specs include 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 1080p video.
