See Ted for Free with Early Blu-ray Pre-Order

See Ted for Free with Early Blu-ray Pre-OrderTed and its creator Seth MacFarlane have already owned its opening weekend at the box office with $54.1 million, thanks in small part to a promotion running over at online retailer Amazon.com.

Anyone who pre-orders the Blu-ray and DVD combo pack of Ted starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and the voice of MacFarlane as the vulgar teddy bear Ted at Amazon will receive a promotional code that will redeem for $10 in Fandango Cash to go see Ted within 48 hours. The promotion runs through September 30, 2012 so there is plenty of time to jump in.

It’s probably a leap for many to bite on a Blu-ray pre-order without having seen Ted yet. Taking the $10 free ticket and $24.99 Blu-ray pre-order price into consideration, you are only paying $15 for the movie. Or, if you have already seen and love Ted this past weekend and plan on gobbling up the Blu-ray regardless, use the free ticket as a gift or go see it again.

Fox and Sony ran similar promotions for Prometheus and Men in Black III earlier this summer, respectively. In both cases the Blu-ray pre-orders were in the top 10 Blu-ray bestsellers list at Amazon. Ted continues that trend for Universal, sitting in position five at the time of this post.

Click here to pre-order Ted on Blu-ray for $24.99 at Amazon.com and receive a free ticket to see Ted theatrically for doing so.
