The June arrival of Father’s Day on June 15 and the anniversary of D-Day on June 6 for home video entertainment means the re-release of at least a handful of war classics to appease the old fogy dads and war veterans out there. If DVDEmpire.com is right, Fox is readying a trio for Blu-ray perfectly timed for the big days.
According to brand new listings at DVDEmpire, June 3 will see the release of war classics The Longest Day, Patton, and The Sand Pebbles on Blu-ray Disc.
Each title will carry the standard Fox SRP Blu-ray SRP of $39.98. Audio is presumed to be some form of 5.1 DTS-HD lossless audio, while the verdict is still out what, if any, supplemental materials will appear.
Since Fox has not officially announced these titles, they are not considered confirmed until that time comes. Given DVDEmpire’s track record, we’ve gone ahead and added them to our On Tap database and will pass along further updates as they’re received.
